Hi, I live in Tokyo for five years.
One problem to travel Japan is that there are not many cheap places to stay in Japan especially in Tokyo.

If you come to Tokyo I recommend going to Akihabara where you can see all the japanese anime people. its kind of fun to watch those people. I also recommend Shibuya, Roppongi, Harajuku area. There are lots of cool night life activities there! enjoy!
