Hi there,
I'm going to stay in Singapore in May 12 on business. But I have free- day so I don't know what is "must-see" destinations in Singapore. What is the best place to view country?
Which hotel is the best service with best prices near by Scotts Road? How do you think spend all day in safari?
Any advice or recommendations it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Laurene,

Glad to hear you are visiting Singapore.

You might do the followings while visting "the little red dot".
1) eat at a local food centre like Newton Food Centre (at Newton) and Chomp Chomp (at Serangoon Garden)
2) visit the Zoo in the morning & Night Safari in the evening
3) have a drink at the roof top of Esplande and enjoy the night scene of Singapore river and CBD
4) hop on a Hippo ride to enjoy the city
5) shop till you drop at the malls along Orchard Road (Tangs, Takashimaya, Isetan)

Enjoy your trip!

Cheers
Joy

Plan your zoo trip well so that you will not miss any of the shows. Currently there are promotion package for both the zoo and night safari which you may want to explore.

As for food, I think you should explore the glutton bay next to the esplanade. This is where the Singapore waterfront is and is near scotts or orchard which can be conveniently reached with just a bus ride.
You can get some of the local dishes there like:-
1) BBQ chicken wing
2) Roti Prata
3) Fried carrot cake (go for the white)
4) Fried Hokkien Mee
5) BBQ stingray (but may be too spicy for you)
6) Satay
7) Sugarcane Juice
etc
Then after dinner there, you can actually stroll along the esplanade park where you can see the Merlion and the Singapore skyline and the new casino.
Afterwhich you can go up the nearby 73 storey high hotel (Swissotel, the stamford) to have a drink and enjoy the night scene of Singapore. Do not wear bermuda or short if you are planning to go up the 73 storey high hotel for a drink cos they do not allow that
